West Ham ‘very concrete prospect’ for signing – ‘Outstanding’ player has ‘dream of moving’ to PL in summer

West Ham United are interested in signing Bayer Leverkusen’s Jonathan Tah in the next window, according to Bild.

It’s claimed the Hammers are considered as a ‘very concrete prospect’ for the 27-year-old after this season.

The Germany international has a deal until 2025 but the report states he could change clubs by activating his ‘exit clause’ in the summer. Bild only mention the ‘exit clause’ and provide no additional information about it.

He’s represented by Pini Zahavi, who has good ties with the Premier League sides and knows the English market well. That’s all the report has to say about West Ham’s interest in the centre-back.

Tah has been ‘outstanding’ for the Bundesliga side this year and his form has also pleased his teammates, including Nadiem Amiri.

“I’ve never seen Jona as strong as in the past few weeks,” Amiri said about the defender.

On his own displays this year, Tah explained: “If you don’t develop further, something is wrong. I work very, very hard on myself, it has always been like that. I step on the gas a lot, which many people might not realise. Now I’m reaping the laurels.”

Amid interest from David Moyes’ side, the player has refused to talk about his future.

“We’re in the semi-finals of the Europa League, we still have five Bundesliga games, that’s my focus. Everything else will be seen [later],” he said.

Bild state Tah’s impressive performances could help him achieve his ‘dream of moving’ to the Premier League. This will come as encouragement for West Ham in their pursuit to sign the defender in the summer.
