The two Chelsea midfielders West Ham reportedly would be happy to take as part of Declan Rice summer transfer.
Declan Rice is wanted by Chelsea in a huge summer transfer deal, and the west London outfit have two players West Ham would be keen to take in exchange according to Football.London.
Rice, 24, is out of contract with the Hammers in the summer of 2024 but crucially, we have an option to extend that deal by a further 12 months.
Arsenal are thought to be leading the race for his signature. However, Chelsea have been long time admirers of the player they released from their academy when he was just 14.
West Ham are believed to be asking for £120 million for Dec this summer, or £100 million plus a player in exchange (Sky Sports). And it seems as though Chelsea are looking to tempt the Hammers into some kind of swap deal…
Chelsea eyeing Declan Rice transfer
Football.London the Blues want to sign the 24-year-old England international this summer, and the Hammers would be happy to take either Conor Gallagher or Ruben Loftus-Cheek as part of the deal.
I would happily take either of those two players. The Chelsea midfielders, 23 and 27 respectively, are both very talented and have incredible technical ability as well s impressive work ethics.
Let’s say if Chelsea offered us £50 million plus those two players – I think it’s something that we should consider.
Here’s the thing though – I just can’t see Rice joining Chelsea this summer.
The 24-year-old Hammers skipper wants to play Champions League football next season more than anything else. So a move to Stamford Bridge really wouldn’t make sense for him would it.
The Blues already have Enzo Fernandez as well, and while I think Rice is streets ahead of the Argentinian, there wouldn’t be much point in them spending so much money on two defensive midfielders.
If I had to put my neck on the line, I would say that Declan Rice will join Arsenal in a huge summer transfer before the start of next season.
However, Chelsea will clearly make a play for his signature in the summer. I just can’t see him moving back to west London anytime soon.
