University of The People Programme
The UoPeople Master of Business Administration offers a hands-on approach to both business and community leadership, as part of a cutting-edge and stimulating educational experience. The UoPeople MBA instills the knowledge, skills and attitudes needed to pursue personal and professional goals, as well as excel in today’s diverse organizations. Its graduates are positioned to thrive in business, industry, government and nonprofit management.

Courses are nine weeks in length, and students may take as many as three courses each term. The MBA can be completed in as little as six terms, or fifteen months of full-time study. Students also have the flexibility to enroll for part-time study and take one course per term.

2. Computer Science
The Master of Science in Information Technology (MSIT) program helps working professionals make the connection between information technology, communications, and business in order to develop marketable technical, creative, and managerial skills.
Students will learn to apply principles of information technology and computer science to the analysis of complex computing problems. They will design and create solutions to technical problems using industry-recognized best practices and standards. Most importantly they will gain the ability to analyze user needs in the development and implementation of computing-based solutions and learn to apply these in their career.
A total of 36 semester credit hours are required to complete the degree. Students must complete a minimum of 12 courses. Students can complete the program in as little as a year, or up to 5 years if they prefer to study part-time.
PROGRAM GOALS
Those who earn the Master’s in Information Technology will develop the competencies to demonstrate their ability to:
- Apply the principles of information technology, computer science and other disciplines to the analysis of complex computing problems.
- Design and evaluate solutions to complex computing problems using industry-recognized best practices and standards.
- Analyze user needs in the development and implementation of computing-based solutions.
- Assess the ethical considerations in the development, implementation, evaluation, and management of IT systems as it applies to ethical reasoning, social responsibility, global citizenship and civic engagement.
- Construct clear, well-organized arguments supported by credible research-based evidence.
ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS
As an accredited University, UoPeople has requirements for all potential applicants, to help maintain a strong, intellectual student body. To meet admission requirements, applicants need to be 18 years old or older and be able to demonstrate a bachelor’s degree completion from an accredited institution. In addition, applicants need to have:
- Working knowledge of at least one programming language
- Documented successful coursework in college-level Calculus, Linear Algebra, or Statistics. Please note: Applicants will need to provide transcripts from any one of these courses completed at the college level.
- Proficiency in English
To apply for admissions consideration to our Master’s program, applicants must complete an online application, including payment of a $60 non-refundable application fee.
Non-Native English Speakers
Applicants who are non-native English speakers, or did not complete their undergraduate degree in an institution where the primary language of instruction is English, are required to provide proof of English proficiency during their application process.
Entrance Exams
Entrance exams are not required for admission – no standardized test scores are required in order to be accepted to the online degree program at UoPeople.
MSIT Foundations Courses
In order to be accepted to the graduate degree program, students must successfully complete the UoPeople Master of Science in Information Technology Foundations Courses. These courses count toward the credit requirements for the degree and are designed to equip students with the necessary skills needed to succeed.
