But now, the tables have turned and it is Chelsea in pole position to land the Brighton midfielder, according to multiple outlets.
Nothing is done yet or even close, but it looks like recent positivity has come from Caicedo’s side, with the player seemingly keen now on joining Chelsea.
Fabrizio Romano had the latest exciting update over night, and he says that personal terms are now close to being agreed between Chelsea and the player.
It now looks like it will just become about agreeing a fee with Brighton, and Romano doesn’t think that should be an issue either.
