Leeds United are among six Premier League teams interested in signing Strasbourg forward Habib Diallo this summer, sources have told Football Insider.
The Whites are on the lookout for a new striker and sent clubs scouts to watch the 27-year-old in action during a 2-1 loss to Lyon on Friday night.
A host of other Premier League clubs also dispatched their talent spotters to watch the Senegal international including West Ham, Leicester, Crystal Palace, Aston Villa and newly-promoted Burnley.
Diallo has drawn attention through his excellent form in Ligue 1, where he has scored 17 goals in 32 appearances to help keep Strasbourg out of the relegation zone.
Strasbourg understand it will be incredibly difficult to keep hold of the striker and are therefore resigned to losing him if appropriate offers arrive in the summer transfer window.
It is understood that the French outfit have given agent Mark McKay the mandate to sell Diallo to interested parties.
Leeds themselves face a nervy end to the 2022-23 campaign, with the Yorkshire club hovering above the relegation zone in the Premier League by just one point after Sunday’s 4-1 defeat to Bournemouth.
A striker is a top priority for the Whites regardless of whether they drop down into the Championship this season or not.
Patrick Bamford has struggled for form this season with five goals scored across all competitions, and Leeds could also lose Wilfried Gnonto in the summer with Chelsea entering the race to sign the Italian youngster according to Football Insider sources.
Diallo has proved to be a consistent source of goals for Strasbourg since joining them on a five-year deal in 2020.
He scored nine goals in his debut season in 2020-21 and then improved his tally to 11 goals in 2021-22.
