Application is acceptable for annual Nigerian programme Feed Nigeria Summit.
With the recent Federal Executive Council approval of the National Agricultural
Technology and Innovation Policy (NATIP) 2022 – 2025, there is hope that the sector will experience fast-paced agricultural development through improved access to inputs, accelerated mechanization, and appropriate linkages to research and innovation as well as extension services.
The approval of the NATIP is reinforced by the FEC’s subsequent approval of the Special Agro-Industrial Processing Zones Program’s formal commencement. Agro-industrialization is expected to be ramped up in the initial 8 locations across the country, with the ripple effect projected to be felt in all the geo-economic zones of Nigeria.
However, the Russia-Ukraine war has levied drastic distortions on the global food supply systems with considerable negative implications on the Global South. Nigeria has been hard hit and, in conjunction with its partners, has proposed the National Agricultural Growth Scheme (NAGS) to ensure emergency food production across the country to shore up the current deficits across key commodity value chains.
The task of ensuring that stakeholders rally to the urgent call to forge a formidable synergy for attaining intended objectives is as important, as it is daunting. The Feed Nigeria Summit Platform is unparalleled in its capacity to meet this strategic need.
The Feed Nigeria Summit (FNS) is Nigeria’s foremost convocation of agricultural sector and agro-allied stakeholders. Since its inception, the event has served to provide a platform for players in the agro-allied ecosystem to proffer solutions to the challenges bedeviling Nigeria’s emergence as an African agricultural powerhouse while also projecting the opportunities within the sector.
