
The PhD Business Administration (International Agribusiness) program is designed towards providing scholarly solutions to the most intractable problems facing agribusiness practice across the world. The program is designed for highly motivated individuals who are committed towards undertaking high quality industry-led researches that will help in improving the performance, scale and productivity of the global agribusiness industry.
Structured as a need based research degree, the PhD program in Business Administration (International Agribusiness) will be focused around FIVE Key research areas:
- Farmers Livelihood and Performance Improvements: Understanding variations in farm business performance, sustainability of agricultural production, processes efficiency and improving profitability of agribusiness operations
- Circular Food Supply Chain and Economic Models for reducing wastes in the Agricultural Value Chains in Africa.
- Resilience in Crops, Livestocks, Aquaculture and Dairy Production Systems in Africa
- Technologies for Agrifood Value Chain Optimization
- Net-Zero Supply Chain for the Agrifood Industry
PhD students participate in the departmental seminar series, present their research at national and international conferences and have the opportunity of collaborating with other researchers and faculty members in other research themes within the PhD Business Administration (International Agribusiness) unit.

- M.Sc degrees in business administration, agribusiness, agricultural economics and other relevant areas with PhD grade
- Candidates with MBA Agribusiness, MSc (MPhil grades) are considered for admission into the MPhil Business Administration (International Agribusiness) program.
